Depending of course on what it is you want to search for and watch on YouTube, sometimes (such as when you regularly check back on YouTube for newly posted videos on a particular subject), it is preferable to do a Search and then Sort the results and view them by the 'Date Added'. Currently, this is a 2-step process -- 1) search; 2) Sort. -- and you could even say it's a 3-step process as you've got to click the 'Sort by' drop-down before you can click 'Date Added'. What a waste of time! What would be really handy would be a 'Search by Date' search button at the top of the page, next to the existing 'Search' button. I made a mock-up:
I attempted to make a GM script to do this, but as usual, didn't get very far.

Awesome, speedy work, Joe!

Actually I just added an input element to the form and changed the button's text because I had to go but wanted to give you a quick working script.

Thanks! I really appreciate you taking the time to do that! I noticed one slight issue with the updated script (at least on my screen)-- if the text in the new button is too long, it pushes the "Community" item out of line:
The only way I was able to remedy the situation was by making the text in the new button shorter.. ("by date" seems to work). |
