What I don't like about this script: It completely takes away my contextmenu in search boxes, which I've customized to fit perfectly in my daily web surfing routine. Also, it works in more than search boxes, such as the title box for this message (works in all single level textareas?). And it shouldn't.

What I do like about this script: It makes it easier to repeat a search on a different website. And it's interface is attractive. It also has a good potential for a large amount of search engines. And I also like how, with just a single rightclick, you can search for all text in the input area.

A few search engine suggestions: I use my trusty SmartSearch addon for Firefox. Some of the more useful search engines I use is Download.com, Dictionary.com. Google images and video, imdb.com, and even seeqpod.com for music.

Thanks for the feedback. After using it for a while now I agree it can be annoying at times to expect a contextmenu and instead have this show up. I'm going to look into making this into a firefox add-on, where i'll have access to the real contextmenu and can simply add to it and not interfere with anything else. Does that sound better?

Sounds much better, smj. I just added this, and for a minute I thought it was just so awesome. Then, I realized I no longer had access to my Paste Email FF plugin, which I use all the time. A plugin that would just add these features to the current context menu would be really nice.

Hey aar0on and unfocused, I took your suggestions and went ahead and made this into a Firefox add-on. Turns out it's more useful that way. I just released the add-on tonight so it's still marked as in experimental status. It needs a few people to review it before it can be added to the public add-on directory. Mind letting me know what you think by rating it on the mozilla site?

I just installed the FF add-on, and it works great so far. I'll see how it goes for a couple weeks and report back.

Awesome. Thanks! Please do leave a review if you can. It can't be added to the mozilla directory until it gets a couple more reviews :(
