Hide the ANNOYING language bar
Have you already planned an option to hide the nerve-wracking default language bar which appears on the top of every video page? I really hate it! ^_^' Keep doing your great work and thank you!! |
What language bar are you talking about? I don't see it. Can you post a link to an screenshot? |
MMh, you're right, it's obviously a language issue: maybe for English-speaking people that use the 'original' www.youtube.com this does'nt appear. But if your OS/Browser has a different language, Youtube attempts to guess from where you are browsing, and you are automatically redirected to *.youtube.com, where * is the country/language domain (IT for me, 'cause I'm in Italy). At this point, the Language Box tells you that the selected site/language might have been incorrectly guessed and you can switch to your language anytime. This is the screenshot link:
Currently I use another script (a CSS style, actually: http://userstyles.org/styles/12635) to remove it, and I've disabled your very useful scroll-to-video functionality. But this way the video sometimes is not centered and if you could integrate this into your script and make the scrolling consider it, the thing would be terrific. Thanx |

I'm not an native English speaker and use a "regional" YouTube site, but I don't see the bar after I accepted the change once. I suppose the preference is saved in a cookie. Had you delete YouTube cookies? Do you use a YouTube account or visit the site as an unregistered user? |
Surely the language option is saved in a cookie. I have a Youtube account but unless I want to add a video to my favs, I always browse the site as a ordinary anonymous viewer, like (I suppose) most people that take a glancing look at the site.

I can add an option to remove the language box then |

It would be great! :-)
