Checkmate. :)

The link to groups in the top nav doesn't show if you're not logged in. Is this by design?

Checkmate. :)

Actually it was a poker reference.

Actually it was a poker reference.

Bingo!

@davidseguin,

It is while we are building them. Once we get a few active groups I'll open it up!

davidseguin Scriptwright

In that case, it works perfectly!

Joel H Scriptwright

it works perfectly, just like my sound card (points if you get that reference to early 90's computer gaming)

on topic:
Jesse, the site looks really good. I havn't been able to be here for a month or two, but I have to say I like the changes you've made.

I love the idea of collaborative scripts, because I think it will help solve the abandoned script problem, and help more people to learn to write scripts (easier to learn by doing than by watching).

Plus if you're a lazy bum like me you can get others to write code for you lol

as long as nobody comes along and deletes the whole thing :(

That's why we vote on changes, plus there'd be a version history so we could just revert to previous like on wikipedia.

smk Scriptwright

oh yeah version history
good idea
+1

Drat, you have discovered my nefarious plan!

I think it would be good to have a code snippet feature for the groups.

I guess Groups page needs 'listing' ( second, third, etc. page ) since even thou group i've made exist it's not visible on the page :P ( group id 33 )

Yes, that seems like a bug.

I created script for "Group" feature.
It allows to add script to group form script page easily.

I was wondering how to start a group, I think I have a good idea for a directory:

I'm going to create the group right now! Please give me a moment

Here it is:

A Greasemonkey Script Directory

@Jesse
Could you put a table of the group that a user belongs to on the user homepage. I think groups would start to become more active if you didn't have to look through the whole group list to find the ones you care about.

Group idea: (testing the water)
I'm an Opera user. I use this site a huge amount, it's a wonderful resource, but I've not contributed of late partially because most of what I write isn't really very Greasemonkey oriented, but also because I'm not really sure what the full scope of this site is, or what Jesse wants it to be (which is why I'm asking this question).

There's been a request on uservoice for a while for a "what browser this script works in" feature for userscripts. A "Cross browser" group would be a great way of gathering a repository of scripts that work in Greasemonkey as well as other browsers (and maybe discussing compatibility issues), but I'm just wondering (a) how much interest there'd be and more importantly (b) whether Jesse/other site mods would see this as within userscripts' scope, or do ye see it as more of a specifically Firefox oriented site?

Fixed some bugs "Userscripts.org Group Tool":

lucideer, I'm not sure about Jesse, bit personally I'd love a group like that. I use Opera and FF2 (my computer is over a decade old and those are the only browsers that work besides IE6), so finding scripts here is always a bit hit or miss for me.
