Would anyone happen to have insight on how it could be that I lost this fight? I thought I had the other mob out-matched and out-numbered but I still lost. LOTS of smart MW pro's on this discussion board so I thought I'd ask some of you experts!!!

You lost the fight, taking 26 damage and dealing 18 damage to your enemy.

I wouldn't say that I am smart by any means but I would say that he has put more into defense or has more defense than your attack

you outnumber them by 2... thats nothing. I have over 1000 mobsters and i lose to people with 600 because they have a TON of defense.

its a fact of the game. You should notice that when you reach higher levels, people on your fight list with a lot less mobsters usually are put there because they have enough defense to make it a good fight. The fight list tends to be a guessing game - as there is attack/defense to consider as well as a "random" possibility - which is why you may lose 1 out of 3 fights despite destroying them with over 40 damage on the 2 you won.

lets keep these topics to the mob wars discussion board, this forum should be reserved for script comments/topics only.

On the cause of the loss, I agree with remarkable. Get used to it. There's also a random element: I've gotten into wars with guys who I know are weaker or stronger than I am, and I've won when I should lose and lost when I should win many, many times.

on appropriate topics, I also agree with remarkable, with the possible exception that OT:"subject" in the subject will let people know that your post has nothing to do with the script. I've found most people here are happy to help with general questions but mainly we're all here for the script.
