what if you made the cookie lifespan 3 minutes by default instead of 15? that way worst case is user waiting 3 minutes instead of 15. will that cause any problems?

also what about making the cookieLifespan = (X seconds + repeatTimeout). that way user can't set cookieLifespan that is lower than repeatTimeout.

and thank you for all your effort

The problem is that wait timeout varies depending on error time and 15 minutes I guess is the largest one...

How do I use this script? I use Firefox latest edtion. I clicked on [tools>java concole] but nothing happened and it just grayed out. I was going to post your java script inside the console thinking this is how to activate the script.

Do I copy the script and past it in a console or something? Sorry for not knowing how to do this.

Ok, Installed GreasMonkey, Installed - Auto Wait. One Big Problem. Rapidshare is screwing all free users in the ASS!!!! If your lucky, you get to download one file. After that not only do you go into a waiting period of 15 minutes [Server Side Includes - timer], they have added a new waiting period that if all server slots are taken you "free user" can't download until a new slot is available. Well This is F*ked up because I have waited their 15 F*cking minutes, then they give a message no more slots available for free users and give you 2 more mintues, then after that revert back to another 15 minutes. This is total F*cking bullshit on Rapidshare's part.

conclusion: I think rapidshare is swamped and overloaded. Because of this it is making it hard for this script to work. If I go outside and come back in all I see is a bunch of save prompts from which will not work because the timelimit to click on them has expired with rapidshare.

Hell, Rapidshare don't even work even if you sit in front of your computer screen and do it manually. I did it for 6 days now and I'm sick of it. goodbye Rapidshare!!! I'm on to new shit!

Oh and one more thing. Premium account users, some not all are suffering too! slow ass download speeds. Each capped at 200k per connection. I know, they have to do something. But what they should do is stop telling and adverstising to everyone that you can download at fast or full speeds. Bullshit!

Rapidshare don't care anymore about service and quality, They have got their millions and all they want is more, but from the customer satisfaction perspective they either don't give a shit or don't know how to give a shit. ******* FINGER TO RAPIDSAHRE ********

I think people whom downloaded shit off their servers needs to upload them to a new service provider. We all need to find a very good file shareing service provider or F*cking go back to shareing shit on Usenet Newsgroups.

Additional wait is happening during high RS load - shit happens - I can live with it cos its free. Script will work then too - it will simple turn to wait as long as there are no free slots. If you will use my modified version (mentioned couple of posts earlier) than only one window works at a time so it will also increase probability of a free slot for you (as is seems you need to wait at least 2 minutes between retries that time). For save prompts I got simple solution - I configured firefox to not ask for location but just download always to default location - then I move files from it to other places.

Thanks for responding Kodak. Ok, I'll try what you have mentioned. I forgot to mention a big thank you to everyone who has contributed to Rapidshare Autowait. sorry for the frustration outburst it just they do offer a free service, to free users. It is just my opinion is that if they don't want to give their free users some sort of organized service then its not worth it anymore. I have purchased Rapidshare accounts in the past its just not justifiable for me to keep dishing out the cash when the Free service would be fine if it wasn't for all the wait. Many of my friends use rapidshare too and we all share together. But we are all thinking of either moving to a different service or purchase our on server and simply use FTP.

has anyone experienced the same behavior as apostle? what version of firefox are you using? are you seeing any javascript errors, when you click the red exclamation mark in the upper right corner of the browser?

i actually just fixed the problem then while i was looking for the red exclamation mark, there wasn't one btw, but it turns out i was running another user script without realising that was causing the pages not to fully load, sorry for the trouble, and keep up the good work, thanks

@apostle
do you have any other rapidshare script attached other than this one? if so your behavior can happen
Do you have any add-on for firefox that skips irrelevant pages (such as skipscreen that can be downloaded from Mozilla website)? this also can cause that sort of behavior
Now i have a question:
I have Mozilla firefox 3.5.5, how can i make it download a file to a default location without prompting me each time ???
i couldn't find it
thanks

unfortunately you will have to add each filetype separately, but i think usually people are downloading just rar files from rapidshare;-)

WOW is the best way to describe this script!!! Works perfect. Started 7 files for download last night, and this morning all of them are done!!! Thank you so much for saving me hours of sitting at my computer waiting as they download one after another :)

Did 28 files last night no problem!! I'm soooo happy :)Thanks so much for all your work :)

new version without gears as they do not work for me in FF3.6 - just plain DOM globalStorage queue; still #links to be reworked; some unnecessary code removed (cookies, gears, date formats)

i still get

Currently a lot of users are downloading files. Please try again in 2 minutes or become a Premium member

what should i do :-(

Superb!!
But is it able to provide slots??? It just refreshes the page and submit for retries, right??
If I'm wrong, please correct me.
