Off Topic: Weird Attackers

Hi all, Everyone here seems reasonably well informed (bask in the praise), while everywhere else whenever I post a MW related question or attempt to research an MW related question, I seem to be swamped with wannabes screaming "add me!" or "AD ME LOLZ!!!!1!"... :) So I thought I'd ask this question here, well two questions really. 1. I've recently been attacked repeatedly by several different people, all of whom are 100-200+ levels higher up than me, I have had no prior link with them that I know of, I've not hit them, not put them on the hit list, not attacked them, not retaliated (other than to put them on my shit list for later dealing with... :)). As I have seen/played the game to date, if your victim is 2-10 levels different to your own, you will maybe get an attack or two, but no more, unless they have attacked you in the last couple of hours. And yet these same few names keep turning up with depressing regualarity attacking me several times until I am hospitalised, costing me a million or two in hospital fees, then rinsing and repeating every 10-20 mins. Does anyone have any idea what is going on? Could this be some kind of exploit that they are using? I've noticed in the URL when you interupt an attack from certain links, it has the attacker as well as the victim encoded, are they maybe setting that attacker to someone much lower leveled, so they can attack, but due to MW code inconsistancy, using their own stats to attack and getting the experience/cash for themselves? (Or maybe it benefits the lower level account?) 2. Again on the subject of attacks, every day or two days I am being attacked by the same people of approximately the same level as me, and yet every time I go to retaliate (some times in as little as 2-3 seconds), they are too weak to attack or are dead, is this a script that saves up their stamina, and then "hospitals up" and uses all the stamina in a rapid burst against a list of stored likely candidates for experience and cash extraction? For the record this is not a whinge or a whine, its a question (OK, two questions). When I play as a mobster, I expect to get bloodied now and again, and I have dealt out more than my fair share of bloody noses not to expect some back sooner or later. I'm sure I am on more than enough shit lists myself. :) |

sometimes people have scripts that record names of people who put someone on the hitlist and keep them so they can attack people they can beat. I have had people add me to the hitlist seemingly at random but right after I put someone on the hitlist. Some people have multiple MW accounts and use a higer level one to attack you with . after you battled them using their lower leveled account. |

I'll say from the experience of a bounty hunter, and just overall mobster, this is common. You may have killed them in a hitlist attempt, or, maybe you farmed someone for exp or something. So they went on the forums and go, "PLZ KILL THIS DOOD, HE KEEPS HURTING MEH", so someone higher up, hitlists them. Then you usually retaliate, giving them the ability to attack you. If you are 100 levels higher than someone, you cant attack them. You can punch them int he face, and hitlist. Its when you turn around and attack back, that they can now attack you. This period resets every, couple hours you go without hitting one another. I have also had plenty of people that have pissed me off, (such as today), that i retaliate and make there mobster experience hell. I am always one to message them first, asking politely, "hey, don't farm this character please", most people are courteous and say ok. Others do the "fuck you faggot, just watch me". So i turn around and get on my big money mules and hitlist the shit out of people, make them loose a ton of exp. Attack them when they hit me back. Best advice I can give is either A, message them and ask them not too, or B, give someone their profile link, such as me :), and ill beat them up for you lol. |

You haven't attacked them on the hitlist? When you attack someone they have two hours to retaliate when the rules dictating what levels you can attack dont apply, its common for people to try and recoup xp from those who have taken a shot at their bounty. |

if you're not in any of the MW groups, then join one and ask for backup. There's power in numbers, and you will have the group leader try to work out a truce. If you are in a group, it's possible that your group is at war with another group, and they are killing the small fish because it's easy. I don't know how exactly they are attacking you (they can HL you easy), but if you say they are, then they are, I guess. As for the second part, a lot people use the hospital to hide in for protection. They attack a bunch of people, then when their stamina gets low from fighting, they just don't heal until they're in the hospital and safe from reprisals. If you're on the HL at all, then expect some big fish to get cocky and mess w/ you. GNomad has good advice, just message them. the MW ID in the address bar for them is the same as their FB ID, so you can find the person and ask them what's going on (Just go to anybody's personal page, cut out their FB ID and paste in the offender's ID)

Just as in Chrisos's question #1, I was getting attacked repeatedly by someone ("Gimme your lunch money", now Level 162 Tycoon aka some douche in Silicon Vally) while I had the Heal Your Boss feature running and was away from my laptop. He'd beat me up so fast that I was dying before auto heal could kick in, I'd auto heal, he'd hit me til I died, I'd auto heal, etc. This went on for an hour before I returned to my laptop, realized what was going on and had lost a few $mil and several exp points. I shut off auto heal and employed auto deposit. I stayed in the hospital but he was back the next day, looking for more money. He stopped once he realized I'd shut off the cash flow. I wonder if he was using a bot to exploit auto heal for the purpose of taking my lunch money. How he found me, I don't know. But I spent the next few days hit-listing him every chance I got. Seems I'm not alone as he is usually dead these days but he does occasionally punch me which I now ignore. Anyone have any thoughts on the existence of a bot that exploits auto heal users? |

There is a tweak you can add to the code for not autohealing once you die. |
