It appears when I select the Job Preference "best experience/energy" it does not count prep jobs in its calculation. Example: Drug Dealing has the best return at 15 for 10 energy = 1.5, but it chose Great Train Robbery, which has 45/30 = 1.5 and more experience, but really costs 10 + 15 + 30 energy to get 45 exp, with the two prep jobs. There may be other cases...
This is a feature of the original script, but maybe you could fix all the original bugs ;-)

You are correct. "Drug Dealing" offers best energy / exp ratio and therefore would be ideal one to use if you want to level up as fast as you can. It only requires 10 energy so you don't even need to invest any skill points. Well, this is so far the most logical way to look at it.

The original script may have "forgotten" to consider the addition energy required and exp gained during the preps. If so, then both "Great Train Robbery" & "Drug Dealing" have the same ratio, but the former yields much more dough, and would therefore be more advantageous if you do meet the job requirements.

Other considerations would also be the money issues... one way to look at it is that with more money gained from the jobs, you would be able to support better weapons / armors / vehicles on a big army (501 self-inclusive) and during your levelling, with the script, you would be less likely to die and therefore level up faster. Another consideration, which I personally yield, is the advantage of doing jobs that drop "good items"... For example, Drug Smuggling by Sea, though only yields 35 / 30 = 1.17ish ratio, but the chance of benefit of getting "Tactical Shotguns" that are not only both good at attack and defend, but also costs no money to acquire AND no money for upkeep. Each of these is very close to that of a "Grenade Launcher" in attack / defense, which costs $200K to purchase and $2.5K for upkeep. With these upgrades dropping as you do the jobs, it also helps your survival while away from the computer...

I'm only level 45, so I'm not sure what it is like after 700 or 1000... I'll look into those lines too, stay tuned.
