Sorry about the confusion. The file hosts from your first beta version are working good but as you said Hotfile on dead links is problematic.

I was talking about this setting when I said "they are checking but leaving live links".
No_live_links = GM_getValue("No_live_links", true);
The file hosts that you just added have links that are clickable.
Also if the post leads to a folder it will be clickable.

Here is how I have the variables set.

Mediafire for instance will also download in the background on some files if the user has set some files to be direct download. That is what I think is happening..
Right now for me the new hosts you added are opening up Internet Download Manager and giving me links to download if the uploader has them set as direct download.

I also get Firefox not responding while checking some of the new file hosts. But if I just wait the page will eventually load after doing it's file checks.

I hope I clarified some thing. I did try the version in your last post thanks for your efforts.

I use the latest beta version and when I click submit or preview in forums like warez-bb or bayw, the message editor becomes blank.

The errors were the Firefox loading problem. I was getting like 20 some files to direct download in the background with IDM. It would time out and say not responding but then finally just load the page. I believe the whole problem was me having to click cancel for all the files that IDM was trying to download in the background. I do not know if you worked on the things I mentioned but I will try the script again when you believe you have those issues addressed. Thank you.

I do not have auto download turned on in IDM but the new hosts open up the main program IDM in the background.
Right now all links are clickable.

The script now slows up the browsing of the web pages a little. Not sure if it is just because of all the checks the script is doing.
Rapidshare and all of the others that were working great before now do not show the image if the link is good or not. What it does is show on the last link if there are a couple or more in a row.

On function delinkify(the_link, the_id) or whever you can add

cool script, however i am also using it to be sure that i am downloading from rapidshare.com and not some nasty phishing site.

big was my surprise that apparently rapidsshares.com is flagged as valid and green!?

it doesn't recognize uploading.com anymore. i went to your test page and uploading.com was the only file host that didn't work. here's an example:

Using Opera 10.51 and install the script of the mediafire link. Other than rapidshare, filefactory & megaupload, the other links checks won't work. (Using your links sample)

Oh, yes. Some of the hosts are not checked by default(I thought they are).

I wanted to uncheck some but how do you save the configuration? If I click X it goes back to the default one.

@hosts, i'm currently using Firefox 3.6.3, I want to ask. why my firefox is freezing for like a minute if I open page with multiple links, ex. rlslog.net, directlinkspot.com, etc. early version of this script never like this. and would you like to write script for enterupload.com and add to your amazing script. thx before.

I'm really not sure if this is a bug or not but the previous version i had ( can't remember which but it was a couple months back ) would change text link ( not Rapidshare/Megaupload/etc but regular links like yahoo or google ) to live links. I just updated the script and it's no longer changing text links to live. Is it something i did wrong or it was removed? I can't see anything about it in changelog.
