I've had an issue where on my old PC my dad uses, the HQ versions of videos are a little stuttery (850MHz P3 CPU ain't enough for flash...) and so I have it set to use low quality flash. Problem is, this is it effects the standard youtube quality videos as well, and those run fine.

Also, with the new fmt=22, even my Athlon XP 2100+ OC'd @ 1.95GHz can't quite keep up unless I set low flash quality. But I can handle all the others just fine.

Adding that option will multiply the users' possible choices and the script complexity, so I don't think I'll add something like that, sorry. But I have great interest in adding an option to replace the "CPU hungry" Flash plugin with a more efficient plugin or a video tag so the CPU use will be lower. I think that will solve your problems with CPU too

if it's playback speed is anything like VLC, then yes it would be faster. (heck, VLC plays faster than even the low quality flash player!)
