I've already done this using chrome/userContent.css in my profile folder. All you've got to do is add to the file (or create it if not already there):

a:visited { color: rgb( 120, 0, 120 ) ! important; }

Why use a script? Simpler is better.

Good point. The Colors feature in FF is very broad.

I created an animated gif comparing the "No custom colors" in Firefox vs what this script does:

Isn't that a function of Firefox?

Tools-->Options-->Content tab-->Colors button
uncheck "Allow pages to choose their own colors, instead of my selections above"

or toggle about:config
browser.display.use_document_colors
