It allows you to select from label-menu which labels you want to hide.

@wmblewett: I've added the ability to hide things like "Starred" and "Drafts".

The reason those didn't work for you is because they're not labels, technically speaking. Only the labels that are actually in the "Labels" box can be hidden right now.

That said, I'll see about hiding the core "folders," too.
