If it auto detect a table, the script doesn't know if it is a table for showing a list or if its part of the page structure.
The unique id i dont see why. Every table that has the class="sortable" needs to be sortable. If there are more tables they need to be sortable and offcourse apart from the other tables.

The whole purpose off this script is page depended and is hard to solve. If a table has class="sortable" you can bet that it already makes use off some kind off script to this work.

Isn't the point of greasemonkey that it can add attributes such as sortable to all tables, and unique IDs (eg GMPSTN1,GMPSTN2,GMPSTN3)
