@Richard: Thanks for the great suggestion. I've updated the script to hide both the promo bar and the welcome bar.

Good job, I was about to write this script and decided to give a quick search to see if I was wasting my time. You knocked out that annoyance pretty quick, and Richard Laager's mod is exactly what I would have contributed.

I changed the className check line to look like this to also block the bar when you're using New Facebook:
if (divs[i].className == "fb95_preview_bar" || divs[i].className == "fbnew_preview_bar") {
