It's inside the TODO:

Maybe, badly put...

In franch you can write: " or « when you quote someone.

Does anyone feel that I should add a key combination like Alt+up/down to exit the selection directly and go down, as oppose to clicking right-left and then up/down?

WOW. I agree with Oria :)
What about adding conversion for "typographical" signs, such as quotation marks, hyphens and such? ( "..."->"…", ">>|<<"->"»|«" aso …)
