If you'd like to change the color of the button, make a rule like:

button#ac_tr { color: red !important; }

In your userContent.css:
http://www.mozilla.org/support/firefox/edit#con...

If you'd like the keyboard shortcut, you can get that and more:

For those of you having trouble with an error message when you 'd' key while entering text on the gmail site, I suggest the following workaround:
From the Firefox menu bar, Tools | User Script Commands | Gmail Delete Button Hotkey
use <backspace> to remove the setting, & click OK.

NOTE: This will disable the ability to delete messages by pressing a hotkey.

To arantius : Is there any way that the hotkey can be assigned to a key sequence? (i.e <ctrl><shift><t> ?)</t></shift></ctrl></backspace>

Meh, I don't like userscripts.org .. I make updates, and I release them and then the old copy over here just languishes .. Anyway it's updated here now.

You could always use the gmail smart-delete button which is also posted on this website (though you should check the original website for the updated script). Last I heard, it works great for both 1.5 and 1.0.7 (two different versions are available).

Solution... Rather than installing
* Gmail Delete Button 3.4 User Script follow the link to the developer's website (above) and install * Gmail Delete Button 3.3 Full Extension... I did so and it is working flawlessly.

I have problem after installing v.3.4. When I type «d» in text field I see: "BUG! Could find button. Alert the author." Please fix it. I'm running FireFox vers. 1.07.

When typing 'attached' and 'pdf' I get a BUG! Could find button. Alert the author. message. Error occurs when typing the d in both words.

It's a conspiracy on Googles part that they dont want us to delete anything. They want to control all the worlds information! But Arantius has helped stop that.

Is this compatable with Mozilla? It appears not.

Note that new versions have a number of configuration options built in (Look in tools, user script commands)! You can choose the position, color, and text of the button. You can also choose which key to use for the keyboard shortcut.

I'd just like to say thanks for the positive comments, and that most of the complaints are fixed with new enough versions of the script and FF.

5 Stars. Works very well.

It breaks on the spam screen as this screen has a "delete forever " button that is replace by this delete button that in just this screen sits there and does nothing at all

Now installed the latest version 2.9, and it works. Thanks this is a godsend.
