I tried replacing the apps.new with apps, but still got the same error message. However, when I clicked on the "8 script versions" link and clicked "Install" link for the latest script on that page, it worked fine. When I used the "Install this script" black box link on this page, it saved and opened again.

All in all, I'm happy to have my tracker back. :D

a) im guessing you recently installed dreamweaver, and it registered the .js extension
b) didnt read my post on how to fix the bug

figure either one of those out and it should work again :)

So, am I doing something wrong here? I added the tracker a few weeks ago with no problems. Today it's gone. When I try to add it again, it saves, but when I click on the file, instead of an "install" it gives me the option "open" with Dreamweaver. Clicking that link only opens the file in Dreamweaver so I can see the script. I really love the tracker and miss it already. :D

fix for the new bug/problem:

replace all instances of "apps.new" with just "apps"

there is more than one, so just find a program like "Editpad" which has good search&replace. enjoy.

Facebook just removed the old facebook style, now apps.facebook.com and apps.new.facebook.com point to the same new page... fixed it.

Kerrison:

Sounds like a problem with Greasemonkey.

Spot:

1) Yes, that IS nice. James does a lot of nice things that I just can't get around to :)

2+3, just as kaz said:

2) That would annoy a lot of people. I can't think of a decent way of automatically updating vault data that will always work, and not take over the user's browser.

3) The data is stored internally (enter about:config in the address bar, and search for 'packrat'). Specifically it's the prefs.js file in your profile's directory. Because of this, it's not really feasible to transfer data between computers unless you actually move all of firefox's preferences as well :)

#2: in larger vaults, this isnt very efficient.
#3: look in about:config, search for "packrat"

Ok, a couple of things.
1.) The pack tracker that is linked on packratwiki.com lets you specifiy which files are in your vault, as well as which ones are in your pack. This would be nice to have.
2.) Even better would be if the script could periodically, just go to the pack page, then the vault pages and record the cards found there automatically.
3.) As I move between several different computers, it would be nice to know if we can find out where this script saves its data, as it would be helpful for me so I could move that data between several computers.

Thanks

Hi there. I'm having trouble with this & Firefox (I've followed the install instructions) and saving. Everytime I load, I have to re-check everything. And no, I don't clear my cache (etc) daily.

Can you help?

Kerrison

I modified the script to be more lenient with the wiki's layout... Install the new version and update collections, should work.

Nice interface,

The script went into a never-ending loop when scanning the vault (until Firefox decided to stop it), but otherwise it is surely a good add-on for PackRat players.

I added your script to the "Related Scripts" section of my PackRat script.
