Here is the black google image if you wanted to use it. I use the custom google logo script in conjuction with Google Goes Black...works great!

actually ...

this only saves energy on CRT monitors (which "shoot" light to display things)

on LCD monitors, displaying black actually takes more energy than displaying white, since the backlight on LCD monitors is always on, so to display black, a current goes through the appropriate cell on the Liquid Crystal layer to darken that cell and thus block out light, creating a darker color.

please correct me if i'm wrong ...

It is most desirable, you the Google logo also change to a inverted color logo.
