I have posted a modified version of this script which makes it compatible with FireFox 1.5 and Greasemonkey 0.6.4. It is posted under the name Google OnScreen - GM 0.6.4 and is tagged with IG. You can also search using http://www.userscripts.org/tag/ig

very cool script, but doesn't seem to work with FF 1.5 and GM 0.6.4

sorry, the page is http://www.faz.net , not fat.net... typo...

This is great! But on the site www.fat.net it does not work. The choosen article loads by page, and not by "on screen". But keep on! I like it!

This is really excellent, thank you! One suggestion: it would be nice if the DIV element disapeared automatically when clicking back on the google page... but again, this is a great script!

I tried to mod this script to work for livejournal comment links, but I don't know enough js to do it properly... do you think you could make an LJ OnScreen script?

P.S. I love Google OnScreen. You rock.

I wondered why the GMAIL folks didn't open the news items in a DIV element or at least open another window. So I changed the way it works.
Things to work on:

Have the window size to the content.
Add a drop shadow to the box that opens.
Have the window "draggable"
