Hello there.

I would like to know how to disable the Firefox extension "Download YouTube Videos" by tweaking "user.js".

I know how to disable it by the regular user interface, namely
Tools > Add-ons > Extensions.

However, I would like to use "user.js" to disable it.

For example, the following directive in "user.js" disables Adobe Flash Player every time Firefox restarts.

user_pref("plugin.state.flash", 0);

Can a similar directive in "user.js" disable "Download YouTube Videos"?

If you are not sure what "user.js" is, then "prefs.js" and "about:config" may remind you.

Thanks.

There's no preference to disable this extension. If you'd like you can install the Greasemonkey script, but I don't think there's a way to disable a script programmatically.

Anyway, the extension is now restartless, so enabling/disabling it no longer requires restart.

I could add a preference for this, but I don't see why this would be useful.
