Don't bother with this script. The answers ARE actually on that page for free - you just have to scroll down past a huge fake "footer" first. That is, the page is laid out like this: Question
You just need to scroll down. :) |

Thanks for this script, but it didn't seem to work properly for me - here's a new script I wrote from scratch to filter out Experts Exchange.

Wow! People like "Tony Amer1" have actually taken time to create a login just to spam this comment page! That is some good appreciation this script has earned. Such people make me sick! And yeah, Expert-Exchange is the crappiest site I have ever seen! Not because of idealogical differences, nor because it is not free, just because THEY HAVE TO SPAM ALL THE SEARCH RESULTS! You know what, Mr. "Here is the link for free subscription", post it to your site, so that when people click on it, they actually go there and not on a page asking their credit card number. This is script is God for me, letting me actually find solution than pissing me off me I am in trouble and need help! |

If any of you lamers bothered to answer maybe 2 questions at EE, the monthly fee is waived. Instead of sucking, try blowing for a change. |

I have to say I completly disagree. I too found out that every time you ran a google search for IT solutions, you came across many EE answers. Finally I decided it was worth it to subscribe and boy has it been worth it. I don't even bother to search Google anymore. I go directly to EE and only search within EE as I have always found my soultion. I am an IT Admin managing multi site domain and this site is the best resource for me. Yes, you have to pay for it. So what. At least they produce results. If you had to wade through Google searches to find out an answer you'd it take for ever. Futhermore you can post questions and get results accurately and fast on EE. I am glad this script is useful to some, but for anybody who has doubts - know that the sibscription to EE is very well worth the price - especially if you're a network admin. THANK YOU Experts Exchange. |

It's nice to see others that hate Expert Exchange. I was a member but recently got suspended because they told me I can't tell people to goto www.downloadcenter.com anymore. They (rpggammergirl) said it was full of viruses and if I posted that site again I would be banned even though I was helping people for free and not charging people the going rate of $200 an hour for my time. I like to help people with their computer problems but when you have a site that constantly complains that your stealing their points, they need to be shut down. |

I actually dont think they are quite free. Some answers you can view by logging in, others, you can only view if you have their premium account. I think its a great idea, but I also dont like the fact that you need to pay for it. I have seen a free version, but its really really small. Its only just begun, so not too much going on yet. Its at www.experts-exchange.co.za At least its totally free and you can view and post with or without logging in |

If you don't want to remove them completely you can also click on "Cached" from Google, or switch your User Agent to Googlebot using the User Agent Switcher extension. This is because they are showing different content to Google than they are to regular users, which is why they have such good ranking in the first place. I'm pretty sure that's against Google's policy, so I reported them as spammers:
Maybe if enough people do so, they'll get banned from Google. |

Sorry Mayank Shridhar, but EE is a site that's not caring about the experts, nor the quality of the comments.
The latest "blur invention" really shows that the owners are only interested in generating $$'s and not in the sites quality.
Many EE experts (like me) have switched to www.thescripts.com, where all is really free and no pointhunting and flaming experts are found. Nic;o) |

Guys, only viewing internal search-results on Experts Exchange is paid (or you need to be an expert with a good answering record). Otherwise you can always view any question after logging on to the site - in fact you can also see the questions without logging on. Have a look at this link for example - http://www.experts-exchange.com/Programming/Lan... - If you scroll down below the advertisements, you can see the complete solution along with all comments posted on that page. As far as searching within the site goes, you can always extract the question-ID from the search result shown and then instead of clicking on the link next to it, just change the question-ID in your browser's URL and the page will open. Or else you can search for the same 'title' on Google with 'Experts Exchange' mentioned in the search string, and you will land up on the page with the solution *visible* as on the link I provided. I have found EE to be one of the most professionally well-maintained sites when it comes to IT consulting and forums, and the experts there are way too active than other forums. Their knowledge is also incredibly amazing - participating on that site helps increase your own knowledge a lot. It wasn't voted the #1 IT site by Nielsen Netratings for nothing. Please see for yourself that the solutions are visible on the site without logging on by having the patience to scroll down below the advertisement instead of posting useless comments against it without knowing everything. |

Great to see people care for free knowledge exchange. EE is definitely on the wrong track and the old "heavy" EE experts already regroup on other sites like www.expertsrt.net, www.thescripts.com and many more there the questions are free ! |
|
|
Very nice :D Every site that requires you to login before you can view the results should die! |
|
|
Interesting that an Experts-Exchange admin, ericpete (goes by netminder on the site) feels it necessary to spam this thread. I guess the script must e having the desired effect. Great job! |

Looks free to me: http://www.experts-exchange.com/registerFree2.jsp |

then why dont you register?

What's the problem? I'll tell you the problem. I have a real problem with being charged to be part of a give-and-take community -0- the heart of the Internet is to share information, not charge for it. It pains me to see good solutions given out on experts-exchange when they just as easily could have done it in a public newsgroup. Make the world better; don't make the world pay for knowledge... provide and receive knowledge for free. That's why we have public libraries and public education. |
|
|
I like experts-exchange.com. What exactly is your problem with it? Better to make something that removes blog, ebay, and crappy online store rating sites from Google. |
|
|
i dont see your problems.
|

|
Thanks! You should write one for webmasterworld.com too! |

"You Need to Subscribe to View This Solution" - I don't think so! YOU need to change your business model! I hate "experts-exchange.com"...thank you. JohnB |

Thank you so much for this. I work in IT and everytime I google a dang error I have to filter past several of these pages to find one where I can get the answer. |
