I've posted v1.2 of the script which detects both issues identified in the previous comment.

After going back and forth since the last comment, we figured out the cause of this problem. To run the script, the "Accept third-party cookies" box in the Firefox->Preferences->Privacy dialog needs to be checked. Without it, the script will not run.

Thanks very much to Haroldo for being patient and providing me with the information that let me figure this out!

In the next version of this script, I'll be sure to make sure the user has this cookie setting enabled. Until I post it, if you find the script doesn't do anything, please make sure (a) you're logged into Netflix, and (b), you are accepting third-party cookies.

Another thing you can check:
0. Make sure you have the latest version of Greasemonkey: https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748

Looking forward to the results! :)

I'll do that tonight, thanks!
I copied you address, so you can delete it from this page.

Hi Haroldo,

I tested it on my Mac and it worked.

Some more questions for you:

1. I was using Firefox v.3.0.3. If you do not have this version, please upgrade.
2. Do you have any other Greasemonkey scripts installed that apply to Netflix? If so, could you disable all other ones (Tools->Greasemonkey->Manage User Scripts)?
3. Could you load this URL and let me know if you see the first page of your ratings? http://www.netflix.com/MoviesYouveSeen?pageNum=1
4. If after doing the above steps the script still does not work, I'd like to see the page source of the page you loaded in step 3. Unfortunately this contains personal information, such as your name, your highest rated movies, and maybe other info... If you're familiar with regular expressions in software programming, you can see if this matches:
var regex = /"list-title">(.*?)<.*?"list-titleyear">.*?\((.*?)\)<.*?"list-mpaa">(.*?)<.*?"list-genre">(.*?)<(?:.*?\n)*?.*?stars.*?_(\d+?)\.gif/gim;

If you're not familiar with that, I'll leave it up to you decide whether or not to email me. If you need an email address to send it to, let me know here. Then I'll reply and post an email address. Then once we're all done I can remove the comment that contains the email address. :)

thanks for helping, but I did what you said (although, I am on Mac) so to force a new page I also hit Command+R, to no avail. I cleared the cache and restarted FF.

id title year mpaa genre rating imdb_id imdb_title
Done.
Processed 1 pages. Added 0 ratings.
Script took 0 seconds.

Hi Haroldo,

Please make sure that you are signed in. To avoid the browser showing you a local copy of the page, reload the page while holding the Shift key, and then reload the page while holding the Crtl key. This will force the browser to get a fresh copy of the page.

If the page still looks like you're signed in (i.e. you can see your ratings page), try the script without the boxes checked. Is your output different after doing all of this?

If not being signed in was the problem, I'll add a check for that in a future release.

Hi (not sure if this is the appropriate area to ask a question), but I posted over at DSL Reports http://www.dslreports.com/forum/r21232951-Expor... and received a reply directing me to this script.
I installed it and checked the boxes and clicked start and got this

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------
id title year mpaa genre rating imdb_id imdb_title
Done.
Processed 1 pages. Added 0 ratings.
Script took 4 seconds.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I did it while viewing my ratings page (I have 1200) and got the same result.
What am I doing wrong? (if possible, please reply over at DSL Reports, thanks!)
