Love the script. One suggestion: On the main page, can you change the Showbiz link to point to www.fark.com/showbiz rather than the Blender.com URL? (Click the showbiz link twice in a row to see what I mean).

That's odd; I've never had a problem with the news stories links. Are you sure you don't have any other form of script running before this one on the same page?

I have a link to a news story like this:

"The infamous World War II bombing of Dresden wasn't as dramatic as your grandfather made it out to be "
http://www.dailymail.co.uk/news/worldnews/artic...

And it shows up fine in the status bar and goes right to the page.

For some reason, the links to news stories don't work when i use this script, especially if the URL is long.

The URL shows up on the bottom left of Fire fox when i mouse over the link. If its URL is too long, it normally clips it and adds ... to the end. When I click such a link without this script, it takes me to the full URL address. When i have this script on, it tries to take me to the shortened link instead which gives me a 404.

for example, the actuall news story URL is

"http://www.motorauthority.com/april-2009-sales-launch-for-next-generation-toyota-prius.html"

But with this script enabled, it takes me to

"http://www.motorauthority.com/april-2009-sales-launch-for-nex..."

It's a great script though, i really like the move shirt link as opposed to remove shirt link, and i like how it automatically opens comments in a new tab. I don't know of any other script that includes that.

I say add a config option for whether or not to hide the ads and stuff. Free sites depend on advertising.

Any chance you could remove the right div altogether (div id="bodyRightSideContainer")? It's the one that the right side ad boxes were in. It's a shame to waste so much browser space on an empty section.

I've made some additions to this script to help out the indicators for comments that mention you.
1) The image is now linkable. Will go directly to the next comment that's mentioned you.
2) Displays a link at top and bottom of each page, "n comments mentioned your name". Clicking link goes to the first comment.

Let's see if userscripts.org understands my line breaks this time....
Replace line 187 through end of file with:

Oooh, glad I looked at this one. From the title I thought it was just a "remove ads and skin fark to look like it used to in The Before Time" script. Excellent work bringing back the image next to comments that mention my name, as well as cleaning up my grossly inefficient farkyish comments code.

The Foobies link only seems to be showing on the foobies pages. Le sigh.

(I turned off all the other GS scripts, too, just in case.)
