I've not heard anything from Mr. Perry in more than a week. If he decides to write and has a valid reason for why I shouldn't be able to distribute this, I'll take it down. Until then, the revised script is available.

Well... I guess I picked the wrong time to take a break from watching TV! TitanTV's coders have modified their code to prevent this script from functioning. I have a new working version ready, but I'll hold off on posting it for the time being. I've written to Mr. Perry and will wait to hear his response before making the new version available... ...Gotta say, I was wondering why the internet was in such a sorry state. Who knew?! :) ... Cheers, David

People like David Twist are bad for the Internet

Who in the world is David Twist?
Is he Oliver's evil twin? Did his parents invent that floor game with the colored dots? Nope. According to his Blog he is the guy who wrote a script entitled "Remove Ads from TitanTV". It seems being able to use a great electronic program guide for free, at least for David, isn't enough. He wants the ads gone, too...

You shouldn't have to pay to see what is on television

TitanTV is free. It will always be free. You pay for it by using it. Simple. The ads you see and the ads you'll continue to see will be non-invasive and ultimately highly targeted towards you. When a featured station rolls to the top of your grid it is because that station or network has underwritten the cost of making TitanTV available for free. They'd like you to know their programming is about to air. Simple. Painless. A small price to pay for having a great EPG.

Semper Fi
My Dad was a Marine. A good one. Marines live by the motto Semper Fi, always faithful. I'd like to thank the faithful TitanTV.com members who brought Mr. Twist's script to our attention. My guess is that one day he could be a talented software developer. Of course, I'd first like to see him survive boot camp...

Ah - immediatly after posting my last comment I discovered how to update scripts here! So, you can just install directly from here if you don't want to visit my purty site. ;)

Author here: I had already updated this to fix the exception last week. I just wasn't aware of userscripts.org's existence till now. :) Props to CalcMan for realizing that the featured stations behavior had changed. I did a bit more editing tonight to match his refinements - you can always find my latest version here: http://www.chaosarchitect.com/creative/

Shuffling around the featured stations rows is beyond my scope of knowledge currently. It looks doable using outerHTML and such, but it would take me several hours to grok all the javascript I'd need to make that work. In the meantime, you can just click on the header cell above channel numbers to resort the grid.

Cheers, and thanks for using this - I'm glad to find that others are using it. :)

Since this script has stopped function I made some modifications, stopped the error message, and rewrote the code to kill the ad in the grid. Modified version can now be found here: http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/1736

This script was great until the error started showing up. I got around it by removing all the code in the script except the last section that closes the column on the far right. I got rid of the rest of the ad frames using Adblock. I use ReloadEvery on this page to refresh every few minutes and it works perfectly.

The platypus verions only worked for the browser session. Once I closed and re-opened Firefox. TitanTv still had the ads on the side.

I too enjoy this script, but got the same "userscript exception" error. I ended up just using the Firefox extension Platypus that utilizes GreaseMonkey to alter webpages: http://platypus.mozdev.org/ which worked great and no errors.

Love this script but lately I am getting the error "userscript exception: type error ad table parent has no properties." I click ok ad ads go away. Any ideas???
