Hi, I have asked this on the yousabletubefix page, but could you look over your script for me please? It's only a small bug, but your script breaks my stop autoplay option. I would be very greatful if you included the fix in your script or gave me some code I can manually add.
Also, what is the pattern "SxxEyyPzz"?

@Paladrinchef:
No, certainly not dead. Just been busy with real life. I updated it with a new version that should match more patterns. That's the only major feature change. It has some baseline code for more features that don't work yet.

Changelog
0.3 (2008-10-18)
Supports multiple filters (x/y, Part, cz, SxxEyyPzz)
Start of code for automatic updates, preferences

@livedream:
First off, thanks! I've actually gotten "Part nn" patterns semi working on my development version of the script. I need to do more testing and make sure its working. After that there's a couple of simple features I'd like to add before next release (namely a configuration menu) and one or two bug fixes I noticed. But if there is enough interest I'll strip out some code and do a release just with the new patterns (also those mentioned by bartus below).

In terms of the full screen...I haven't looked totally into it yet, but I'm pretty sure when you exit full screen it refreshes the page? But I will do some research into it -- for now the best I can say is to use a script like YousableTubeFix that allows you to expand the size of the video.

I like this a lot - came across it when i posted in the forums looking for a script that does just this - good work.

I would love it if this would work with Part nn indexing methods as mentioned below as this is far and above the most common type of indexing I come across and would be awesome.
Is there any way of getting this to work when a video is fullscreened? Presumably by forcing a fullscreen exit on the old video and fullscreening the next video automatically (if the original vid was FSd when it ended?).

Much appreciated :)

@Paladinchef:
I think I solved the problem with the infinite buffering circle. In YousableTubeFix I changed my setting from fixed quality of H.264 to "Best quality available" and that seemed to fix it for me, but this may be a specific case.

@bartus:
Thanks. Will add those patterns in the next version. If you think of any others feel free to post!

Two most common alternative indexing methods I am aware of:
- part nn ( http://pl.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=CEF23F07... )
- cz nn ( http://pl.youtube.com/view_play_list?p=5C3B967C... ) // equal to 'part' in polish, my native language ...
plus combination with dots, commas etc.
From time to time it get really weird - SxxEyyPn ( http://pl.youtube.com/profile_videos?user=kamilatr )

@bartus:
X/Y is the only pattern I have seen. Please give examples of others. I am tempted not to have custom search patterns since it is done through regex and it can really mess things up, but I can look into it.

The quicklist. I can have it check it but unless the name is very short (~20 characters) its not going to be able to find what part each one of them goes as. In other words I would be unable to figure out where things are in this list unless I just assume that they go in that order. But you shouldn't even have to add it to the Quick List this way, you just load up the first video and the script handles everything for you.

@Paladinchef:
The script takes whatever the "default" video (the one actually on the page) and uses that quality for all the videos. I'm not sure if that's what you're looking for?

bartus Scriptwright

X/Y is not as common method of indexing the multi-segment videos as it seems. 'Custom search pattern' to include different indexing technique would be great feature ...

Regarding my previous post. I used to add all segments of the multi-part video to YouTube Quick List (those small 'plus' sign on the down/left corner of a thumbnail ;) witch has feature to play them one by one. Unfortunately it does not work with YousableTubeFix. I fought your script, witch is suppose to work with YousableTubeFix, could make use of this YT feature. Before looking for the wild card match check the QL for a next segments...

I've gotten the buffering circle a few times -- I'm not sure what is causing it but I'll try a few things out and see if I can work out what is causing it. I can see about adding in doing LD/HD option. Although I'm not sure why you would want to watch part 1 in HD and then the other parts in LD.

Paladinchef User

ok i got it Fixed somewhat (Reinstalled the Script :P) But still just shows the Buffer Circle thing usually after the 2nd video (also i would really like to see the option of either loading HD or LD in background :X).

Edit: well theres a reason for it as since i dont play all videos i watch in HD i do switch between HD and LD alot also for the reason i might be downloading a file etc.

@Paladinchef:

First of all thanks!

I'd really prefer not to add something like that -- it'd make more sense for another script to do that. I can definitely try to make it compatible though -- I use YousableTubeFix to force H.264 and it seems to work OK.

First let's try a little testing: Go to "Manage User Scripts...", make sure that YouTube Stitch is "below" the other script you are running, you can do this simply by dragging and dropping, (meaning the other script will run first and YouTube Stitch should post process it and copy the options) and see if that works. If not, what script are you using to force HD? I'll take a look at it and see what's up. Also, what video are you running it on?

When you say it doesn't load the next video, do you mean that it gets to the end and just stops like a normal video (and the related video links, etc. pop up in the video window) or does it do a continuous buffer at the end (has the little loading circle in the middle of it)?

Paladinchef User

Great Script! Possible to add a option to load HD videos in the background, instead of there LD counterparts? The script i have does enforce HD, but it does not work right with your script. (Does not load next video in HD will not load/goto next at all if video playing before is in HD but when i put it in LD it loads/goto next fine)

Script Update
Version 0.2 (2008-09-08)

  • Fixed a few various errors
  • Added the ability to configure the number of videos to buffer at once (via the source)

I'd suggest trying to keep the number to buffer >3, if you're using a script to force high quality videos you may want to decrease this to 2 though.

@bartus:
I'm not sure what you mean by the "Quick list" and "Play list" are those only available when logged in? If they're lists similar to "Related videos" and "More from this user" then they could be added w/ minimal effort.

This script does now work with YousableTubeFix (or it should...) so hopefully that'll fill some of that gap?

bartus Scriptwright

One more suggestion: If the wild card search does not provide any results script could parse youtube quick list/play list for a next parts. The auto-play feature in youtube is sacked, moreover it wont work witch YousableTubeFix.

DarkJedi613 Script's Author

@bartus:
Currently it buffers all the videos at once (which is rather painful when there is >3 videos total). I'm working on getting it to allow you to choose how many one would want to buffer at once (and it'll be configurable). It will definitely be the next feature I'm adding.

bartus Scriptwright

I have awfully weak incoming bandwidth ~1Mbps to low for 3 stream buffering simultaneously (if I properly interpret script variables.)
How can I change number of currently downloaded videos ? Some script config dialogue would be great.
