Also interferes with Gmail Air Skin.

This is weird. When I first log in all the icons are there. After using another script (Gmail + reader integrator) the icons disappear (I mean that the standard gmail attachments icons are used instead).

Hi splintor,

I've just reinstalled the script and everything is ok now. Shame on me!

Sorry about that and thanks again for your script,
tdd

That's very strange. Please send me a screenshot of your inbox to splintor at gmail.com, and I'll see what I can do.

I don't know if I'm doing something wrong, but now only gcalendar reminders have a different icons. All the other attachments have the same one.

@tdd: What icons are you missing? As I said, I added some new icons, but the old ones should work as well.

thedrunkduck User

Hi,

it works fine for me too! Very good script. Will you add all the different icons as in the version for the old gmail?

thanks,
tdd

It's working well for me, multiple attachments producing the same icon as well. Good work!

OK, the new Gmail GreaseMonkey API had some problems so I reverted to using the old method, but with the new Gmail layout. It should be working fine now. Let me know if you encounter any problem (or if you would like to tell me you liked my changes... ;) )

I updated the script with this new features:
1. Support for new Gmail
2. Added various icons (psd, svg, docx, xlsx)
3. Added a "Multiple attachments behavior" menu option to configure how multiple icons with the same extension are treated - see wmblewett comment.

From my short tests, it sort of works, but it still have some problems. I hope to have more updates soon.

Latest updates to GMail break this great script. Any ETA on an updated version? =)

My opinion: Use the second one.

Should I use http://www.romanzolin.com/img/misc/psd_icon.png or http://www.hotitemfinder.com/ebay-info-profits/...?

@wmblewett: Its not that hard to implement it. I just thought having a paper clip is a good indication that more than one files is attached. I'll try adding this as an option or something.

@Nitwad: As I don't use photoshop, can you point me to the psd icon? Once I have the icon, I hope to find the time to add it to the script.

Nitwad User

awesome script, one of my favorites.
as a photoshop user, maybe a .psd icon would be nice.

Also, something that's probably much harder to implement than to suggest. I understand the logic of showing the paperclip for multiple attached files. But if there are two word docs I'd (personally) prefer it if it still showed the word doc icon and so on for other formats.

Thanks wmblewett for your comment. I added Office 2007 new extensions to the script. If I sometime have time, and there is a demand, I'll update their icon to Office 2007 new icons.

I really like this script... Simple suggestion, add docx, dotx, dotx and the other Office 2007 extensions....

Jakob Breivi... User

Disregard last post from me, this seems to work nicely after all.

Hum, now when the script IS working (thank you!) it seems to break the functionality of this script: "Gmail - Zip Attachments and Download"; <http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/7842>

A click on the attachment icon no longer pops up a download box. Perhaps this can be fixed as well? :-)

Thanks in advance for a very nice script!

Forgot to mention - my recent version should fix your problems. You just need to include your Gmail URL in the Included Pages list in Greasemonkey Manage Scripts dialog.
