Script Summary: Replaces flash player on gametrailers.com with HTML5 player. Edit from magical_graam's "Gametrailers No Flash" script.

Version: 2011-07-20

Script homepage

Rewritten on 06-06-2011. Replaces Gametrailers video sources with a HTML5 player.

NOTE: THIS WILL NOT WORK IN FIREFOX! Unfortunately, FF just lacks the codecs required to play the video.

Features

  • Enjoy GT videos in the built-in HTML5 player (this means better speed and no Flash bugs on Linux systems).
  • Click the video to pause/unpause.
  • Press escape to go out of fullscreen mode.
  • Video controls disappear a second after you stop using the mouse, so they're not in the way.

Changelog

2011-06-06:
- Rewritten from scratch.
- The Flash player can no longer be switched to. You can just disable the userscript if you need it, after all.
- Added pause/resume on click.
- Added Esc to exit fullscreen.

New in 2010-12-19:
- WMV removed because those videos won't work.
- Fullscreen can now be entered and exited properly.
- The links belonging to this script are given a nice style and shown right below the video.

Issues:
- Gametrailers videos are encoded in mov, wmv and mp4 formats. This means that the script does not work in Firefox unless a future version of FF starts supporting H.264.

Suggestions are always welcome.
