ctrl+Alt+B on page you want to bookmark. Or use the greasemonkey user command.
Hover over bookmarks to see settings icon. click that to edit bookmark.
If this doesn't work on your google homepage - please send me (comment) the URL as we may not have it enabled for that URL.
