Flickr Auto Page

Infinite Scrolling for Flickr: this greasemonkey script removes the need to go from pages to pages in Flickr by automatically expanding the display when you scroll.

This greasemonkey script makes small changes to the interface removing the need for you to click on the pagination number and wait for loading times every time you go to the next/previous page.

When you browse paginated pages on flickr*, the script will fetch the next page and append it automatically at the end of the current page while you scroll down.

"User's Stream Infinite Scroll" by mortimer?[?]Stream Infinite Scroll by mortimer?

The initial load time for the page is the same as the normal loading time. The next pages are only loaded when you scroll to the end of the current page. This means less clicks for you, but also shorter loading times for the next pages.

The script is now localised to the language you have selected on Flickr. Supported languages are French, Portuguese (thanks to Perla*) and English, if you want to submit a new one, contact me.

i've been getting the same issue on Favourites and now in Sets.
Using Firefox 2.0.0.11 and Flock 1.0.9 on Mac

Awesome script! I find that if I go to someone's Flickr favorites page it keeps saying "fetching page" on the left, but only the first page is ever shown. This is with Firefox 2.0.0.11 on Windows.

This is a fairly new problem. It was working fine a month ago.

well, I use it with the latest GM security update and I don't see any bugs.

What problems do you have?

some users reported that it won't work for Firefox 3b2, but I am not yet supporting this version.

A very nice script Mortimer, thanks!

i would like to know if its possible to scroll more than one page every time i reach the page bottom? Like 10 pages maybe? Or even to show all the pages that available?

cwalker71, you do know that you have to use Firefox and install Greasemonkey (http://www.greasespot.net/) to use these scripts?

I must be missing something. When I click the button to "install script" all it does is display the source code and thing else happens...

would it be possible to make an auto page for flickr leech ?

http://www.flickrleech.net/

that would be the ultimate way to browse pictures !

Congrats! Great script!

May I suggest.. maybe not to start downloading the next page way before we go all the way down but just a little bit ? To give time as to have a more continuous stream..

Also and more important, i don't know if it's just me, but the page navigation on the left should scroll down with the user !! So I can skip between pages easily and remember where i am .. more or less.

congrats and keep them coming !

I have the same problem

This script doesn't seem to work all the time. The auto page list shows up on the right, but does nothing about half the time. I'm not sure if it's the links I'm following to the photostream or if it has to do with the combination of other Flickr scripts (which I have a lot of)... Anyone else have this problem?

i have reinstalled.. but still NOT WORKING

Don't know if this has been mentioned on another site or not, but Monkeybarrel conflicts with this script. At least it did for me. This script would stop working on certain flickr pages, like friends photos.

losermikemike, you are right, I could load them before, but then, it could hit Flickr network a lot if we load too much pages we don't use afterward ;)

For the paging interface, I don't really know what you would like?

i signed up just so i could thank you for this
only thing i would like to see is a better looking navigation interface on the left hand side. maybe even something in flash :o
and i'd definitely wouldn't mind those pages to be pre-loaded before i even scroll to the end of the page!

I reinstalled the script and everything's smooth now. Thanks.

benbenben, it works great with me, there is one page where it hasn't been implemented yet: the list of photos for a particular tag, otherwise, but in that case, the page list shouldn't move. I never saw anywhere where it wouldn't work.

Can you give more details, or join the discussion here:

Harry, I never use Opera, I suppose the problem comes from the use of GM_xmlhttprequest... I am moving away from that for the soon to be released v0.3 so it might work with Opera.
