Last.fm charts downloader

Last update on Sep 1, 2007

Linking Last.fm with Elbo.ws, finding free music for the masses.

This links artist's top songs from Last.fm (under the Charts tab for an artist) to the mp3 hosted on a blog found by Elbo.ws. It doesn't work with every song, but a majority of them.

Break frequently, if you have trouble with it now, might be broken. I'm always working to upgrade it, if you want to help. Sweet. I'd love it.

Update: Added the additional tab suggested below

Since Elbo.ws complete redesign, it's screwed up the script fantastically. Anyone want to run with this?

don´t get me wrong, it works great when you go to the charts page.
i just tried to apply this script to the songs on the artist-page, too. but this somehow does not work, tho the download-buttons show.
is there some way you could make it work on the artists main page aswell?

it´s a great script, thank you a lot.

it still works for me, you just have to wait a minute for it to load a new tab in Firefox. It doesn't work with all songs.

It does work somewhat.
But because it can take some time before the song plays I prefer opening it in a tab, so it starts playing in the background. Can be done by using

    GM_openInTab(filePath);
as 149th line.

I'd love to, it's in the works. I work with a developer on the script, so I'm at the mercy of his time. I'd ideally like to turn this into an add-on with a lot more capabilities.

Much better...thanks and good work.

Suggestion: Your script links to one song. Would it be possible to have a second icon that would link to the search page for the given song?

OK, thanks for the response. I guess it is just not working for me. Sounds like a great idea, looking forward to getting ti to work.

What's supposed to happen is a download link to the left of the artist's song title is supposed to appear. Once you click through, it will take you directly to the song. That is, when it's working.

I am just wondering if it is broken for me right now or if I am totally using it incorrectly. I just randomly chose Christina Aguilera and went to her charts page (http://www.last.fm/music/Christina+Aguilera/+ch...) and was expecting that those songs would be linked to the Elbo.ws mp3.

They are not, they just go to the regualr last.fm page. So, am I expecting it to do something it does not, am I looking in the wrong place, or is it just broken and I have yet to see it work?

This script works great, when it's working. If you can help make it more unbreakable, I'd appreciate it.

Thanks.
