Welcome!

Here's a little script that I wrote to add a Favstar button next to the "reply" and "retweet" buttons when a tweet is rolled-over on Twitter.com. Check out the screenshots if you're not sure exactly what I mean.

The benefit to this script is being able to be the first to star a tweet that has potential to go places. I personally use it for almost all of my favorited tweets.

If you're using Chrome, I have a solution for you now too! Find the extension here.

Upgrade Instructions

Firefox: If you already have the script running on your system, to upgrade to the new version, just click the green install button up above and go through the steps from there. Nothing to it!

Opera: Steps are the same as below. Just replace the old file with the new one.

Please check Change Log at the bottom of this page before upgrading!

Firefox Instructions

1. Make sure you are using the newest version of Firefox to be safe.

2. You must first install the greasemonkey addon.

3. Once you have installed greasemonkey and it has restarted your browser, click on the green "Install" button at the top of this page.

4. Go through the steps and you'll have a fully functioning Favstar button on each tweet at Twitter.com

5. Follow @theJoeBiz.

Opera Instructions

1. Make sure you are using the newest version of Opera to be safe.

2. Create a folder somewhere on your computer called "Opera Userscripts" or something similar.

4. Go to the browser preferences, click on the "Advanced" tab. Find the "Content" section, then click on "JavaScript Options..."

5. Find an input field for "User JavaScript Folder", click "Browse" and browse to the folder you created in Step 2.

6. Restart your browser and if you did everything correctly, you'll have a Favstar link on every tweet at Twitter.com.

Working on Features

1. Support for Chrome (Possibly Safari).

Change Log

1.0 - Original Script
1.1 - Updated code to remove Favstar link on Direct Messages.
1.2 - Cleaned up code, should work with Opera now as well.

1.3 - Added options panel. Now you can choose to open tweets in new tab. Firefox users can find the options button on the right side of any page, it's called "Favstar Link Options". Make sure to save settings and refresh page after you check or uncheck the box. This setting is disabled for Opera users and DOES NOT work in combination with the Power Twitter add-on due to some conflicts. Power Twitter users can still use this script, but the options box and "open in new tab" feature will not work.
