Script Summary: Shows short link for the current page in the bottom left corner of the window

Thumb Thumb

If you're like me, you're tired of looking for short links on sites you know have their own short links (YouTube, Flickr, etc.). Now there's a script to do it for you!

If this script finds a short link in the current page, it adds a "Short Link" panel to the bottom left corner of the window. Mouse over the panel to expand it, then select the URL or right-click the "Short Link" link to copy the short link. Try it on YouTube or Flickr.

This script looks at the page's links (<link> and <a>) for a short link, so it's up to the site owner to get it right. For more on the short link microformat, see http://microformats.org/wiki/rel-shortlink.
