Script Summary: Looks at the Artist and title of the Pitchfork review you're reading and puts a Rhapsody play button if the album is available.
Version: 1.2.6
Not working currently due to cross-domain scripting having been disabled by Greasemonkey it seems. I haven't had a full day to look at this in a bit, sorry.
After loading the Pitchforkmedia.com review this script will search for a matching artist/album on Rhapsody. If the album is available it'll create a play button, if the search doesn't find the album it will write out that the album is not available and provide a link.
The link will go to the artist if available or the artist search populated with the artist name to make it much quicker to find what you're looking for.
Used code generated by Platypus to kill their ads while I was at it and this script could be useful just for that. The Rhapsody link is fairly unobtrusive.
* Notes: certain artist pages or reviews use slightly different names and won't match, but I got as many as I could. It seems to find 90% of the artists that I'd checked that were available. It'll never find those double album reviews Pitchfork does sometimes. Sometimes artists with two names are shortened to one on either rhapsody or pitchfork and won't be found. Examples: Ghostface Killah or Yoko Ono will be Ghostface or Ono.
* Updated December 10, 2009 - I decided to change the font-sizes, kill the left-hand ad column, and expand the width of the center column for reading improvements. Let me know if you hate this and I could probably make a toggle. Also improved the way "Various Artist" albums are searched on slightly.
* Updated May 06, 2008 I added a few different search options if the album reviewed is not found that can help find it on the Rhapsody site.
* Updated April 25, 2008 Changed everything a bit to check a second time for bands that start with the word "the" since they are so commonly mishandled by either the review site or Rhapsody. I also added a version check to see if you have the latest version of the script and if not give a notice you can click on to install the latest version.
* Updated Mar 03, 2008 They fixed the xml feed I was temporarily unable to grab the RCID off of.
* Updated Feb 18, 2008 for Pitchfork layout changes.
* Updated Nov. 01, 2007 to embed an image rather than host externally
