FA-FuraffinityButton (GreaseMonkeyVersion)

By Blackraven2 Last update Jul 25, 2010 — Installed 882 times.

Script Summary: Preview Images by hovering the mouse over thumbnails anywhere on Furaffinity. Makes "warning thumbnails" a lot less annoying, especially in search results.

Version: 20100625

Script homepage

Thumb Thumb

In any page of Furaffinity, (browsing, galleries, search results, etc...) hovering the mouse over a thumbnail will display a preview of it in the lower left corner (under the advertisements / control panel) using the "half scale image".

New in version 20100625 (based on FuraffinityButton 6):
- Adapted code to work with the new Furaffinity Layout.
- Moved advertisements to the left where they were before, to waste less space.

New in version 20100428 (based on FuraffinityButton 5):

Display the "tab pane" with links to gallery, user page, personal notes, etc also when viewing an individual submission, allowing easier navigation.

Tested and working with the following Browsers:

Firefix 3.x (using Greasemonkey)
Opera 10 (loaded userscript directly)
Midori 0.2 (Webkit) (loaded userscript directly) (This indicates it SHOULD also work in Apple's Safari using Greasekit (not tested yet))
Chromium 5.0 (Open source version of Google Chrome) (loaded userscript directly)

Feel free to test and give feedback with other browsers/user script extensions. It'd be cool if someone could test and tell me about whether it works in Safari and IE.

I adapted FuraffinityButton to Greasemonkey, making this useful extension available without the need to install yet another firefox extension if you already have Greasemonkey anyway.

Come to think of it, it would have been easier to create FuraffinityButton as a Greasemonkey user script in the first place, but if I had done so it wouldn't be able to do as much as it is able to, now.

The GreaseMonkey Adaption has a couple of shortcomings.
- There is no preferences dialog to select the preview size, instead the user would need to edit the script itself to change it. Otherwise the size is fixed to the default value 200px.
- No auto-login feature
- No custom styles
