Script Summary: Filters Facebook feed items based on custom regular expressions.
* Script IS working as of 11/4/2011
How many low-information-value items do you have in your Facebook feed?
Donna and XXX are now friends: Unless Donna is my GF, why should I be concerned?
Eric commented on YYY's photo: Why should I look at a complete stranger's photo? If YYY were my friend, I would have seen the photo elsewhere.
Steven likes ZZZ's status: This is complete BS. I need to click on ZZZ to learn about this stupid status?
Now I've provided filters to get rid of these updates. You can also define your custom regular expressions. Shame on Facebook for making no progress in years other than those meaningless UI changes.
* Update 2011/08/31: made change in respose to FB's recent change
* Update 2011/06/05: corrected a bug for filtering apps
* Update 2010/10/29: changed CSS class "selected" to "selectedItem". Who the hell in FB is making these kind of trivial changes?
* Update 2010/08/07: hopefully FB's non-English versions will work now. Replaces localStorage with GM_get/set.
* Major Update 2010/06/15: Allows you to selectively disable each item by clicking from Facebook's right column (there are a list of checkboxes to control per-item filtering)
* Update 2010/04/20: Looks like FB redeployed their change recently. The most recent version works now.
* Update 2010/04/02: What can I say? FB just rolled back their change. Install this old version http://userscripts.org/scripts/version/70439/18...
* Update 2010/03/31: FB changed their HTML. Fixed the script.
* Update 2010/03/16: apps are now blocked. one line change :)
* Update 2010/03/04: now I'm using the GenericStory_Report class to make it more effective to match gray fixed Facebook text; also I've changed to only target at News Feeds
