Script Summary: Quicken Online's latest update hides notes in a "Details" panel. This script displays notes on the main screen.
Quicken Online users who attach lots of notes to their transactions were disappointed when Intuit relegated note text to a "Details" panel which must be clicked for every transaction you want to examine.
Although you can hover over a Note icon to see the note text in a tooltip, you cannot see all notes onscreen at once, as was the case in the previous release. This script brings back some of that functionality, displaying a summary of all notes in the Note column. (The Note icon is dimmed to help readability.)
This is my first Quicken Online script, so the summary display is fragile. For example, it disappears if you edit a note. Refreshing the page will redisplay all summaries.
Since I tag all transactions, (my expenses, my spouse's, our joint expenses) it was essential to reclaim from Intuit some sort of note text column. Thanks to Greasemonkey and a lot of work, I can now share my efforts with the larger Quicken Online community.
