Callto: Linkify (for Skype)

Looks for phone numbers in pages and makes hyperlinks out of them. When clicking on the link, your Skype will ring and be dialing the number / link you clicked on.

No more copying and pasting phone numbers to Skype. SkypeOut directly from your online contact list (say Gmail contacts) without any manual synchronization or addition to your Skype contact list.

Looks for phone numbers in pages and makes hyperlinks out of them. When clicking on the link, your Skype will ring and be dialing the number / link you clicked on. Works for all of these patterns:

800-555-1212, (800) 555-1212, (800)555-1212, 800-555-1212, 800-555-1212, 800 555 1212, 800.555.1212, 800/555/1212, 8005551212, +1 (number), + (international number)

Yes, when it works the above will become: 800-555-1212, (800) 555-1212, (800)555-1212, 800-555-1212, 800-555-1212, 800 555 1212, 800.555.1212, 800/555/1212, 8005551212...

Area code is needed and call to US and Canada by default. SkypeOut from US or Canada for free at least till the end of 2006. Skype to another country by changing defaultPrefix but it is not free.

Skype Web Toolbar (http://www.skype.com/download/skypewebtoolbar) has similar function but makes all websites load much slower. This script makes perceivable delays only when loading lengthy javascript pages, say Gmail all contacts list, but you can choose to disable it at that moment.

Please comment to let me know you are using it.

I made a modified version of the "Callto: Linkify" script for the Linux version of Skype. Instructions on how to use the modified version of "Callto: Linkify" can be found at http://amoore2600.wordpress.com/2007/07/27/call...

By the way this script is great!!! Thanks, Boris Yim!

Amazing! How is this not EVERYWHERE? Many thanks for the best script ever. In Salesforce it works amazingly.

Quick question, do you think it might be easy to make it dial Vonage, not just skype? Everything could work the same except dial a vonage connection, like this great mac widget does: http://www.patrickpatoray.com/index.php?Page=113

It connects to vonage servers directly, so no vonage needs to be installed. I switched to vonage from skyper and your script would rock working with vonage. If so, make a comment and I could email you or give my email to help test, etc, could be a fun bit of code!

You could comment on this script if you were logged in.
