Script Summary:
Adds contextual external search links to title/name video subpages. |
This script has no discussions. |
This script has no reviews. |
The following links are added to the video gallery and external videos pages of titles/names:
YouTube | trailers
Search videos of the current title (or its trailers) or name in YouTube.
Google Videos | trailers
Search videos of the current title (or its trailers) or name in Google.
Google Videos > IMDb
Search IMDb videos of the current title/name in Google.
IMDb in Google's cache
Open Google's cached version of the IMDb video gallery page of the current title/name.
If the page is found and contains video links, you can watch most videos from there.
Most IMDb videos are geo-targeted. The availability of content is dictated by the copyright owners. Due to licensing restrictions, most trailers, films and TV titles are available only to users located in the USA. (However, most independent films supplied to IMDb directly by film-makers are viewable without any geographical restrictions.) So this script is generally useful for users located outside the USA, though USA users may also find it useful, since not all titles/names have videos on IMDb. The last two links (which allow to access IMDb videos via Google) won't appear on IMDb's USA sites such as http://us.imdb.com (which I presume are used only by USA users).
