Performs various character substitutions as you type to make your twitter or identi.ca messages prettier and use less characters. (Works with Firefox and Google Chrome.)
Although the list of substitutions below is extensive, the intent is that the key sequences are intuitive and you don't need to memorise every single one. See Tweet Symbols for a nice way of inserting various extended characters via a pop-up menu in twitter.
It performs the following substitutions:

| " | “ or ” | Converts double-quotes to the left or right slanted version as appropriate. |
| ' | ‘ or ’ | Converts apostrophe to the left or right slanted version as appropriate. |
| ... | … | Three periods becomes a single ellipses character. |
| -- | – | Two hyphens surrounded by white space becomes a short dash (en-dash). |
| --- | — | Three hyphens surrounded by white space becomes a long dash (em-dash). |
