YouTube - Windows Media Player V7

Script Summary: Replaces Flash-Player with Media Player

Version: 7.03

Thumb Thumb

Updated to work with the new YouTube layout.

Now supports announcements. This way I can notify people of important events, without them having to check this page. I'll promise to not do this too much, but it's quite useful if the script breaks, I can make a quick announcement notifying that I'm aware, and am in the middle of fixing.

Will also notify of new YouTube features probably soon to come.

Updated to work with 1080p videos

I had to remove the download links from the latest version because YouTube is now charging to download videos for offline viewing, and out of respect for them, will not provide the same downloads for free.

Added a new option in the configuration to automatically set video size to HD when HD is available for that video.

This script was based off of YouTube No-Flash player available here:
http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/53840

It is modified to play nicely with Windows Media Player
If you're on Windows 7, all you need to get is This plugin:
http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-p...
That's it, you're ready to go!

If you're NOT on Windows 7, but on Windows Vista or Windows XP, you need to get CCCP available here:
http://www.cccp-project.net/
As well as this plugin
http://port25.technet.com/pages/windows-media-p...

Once you got that, then you're ready to go!

This of course, replaces the flash player with WMP on YouTube so loading times are faster, and playback is smoother on some older hardware.

For me, when watching HD videos, the Flash Player was very laggy, and eating 100% CPU.
When played with WMP, it plays extremely smooth, at only 50% CPU.

GOOD JOB!

Have fun :D
*If you're a K-Lite* user, it is recommended that you un-install it before you install CCCP (You should not lose any codecs, CCCP has the same plugins, just better global support)

**K-Lite does not work well with the script (In tests that I ran)
