Script Summary: When paying your Verizon Wireless bill online, it isn't very clear whether your paying by credit card or by debit. Since Verizon Wireless perfers you to pay by debit, it's presented to you first. This script makes it *very obvious* that you're paying by debit.

This script is now depreciated

This script is no longer being maintained. If you want to modify the script, please send me the URL of your new script and I'd be more than happy to link to it here. Otherwise, this script is being held for historical and reference purposes.

Description

Most retailers prefer you to purchase using your Debit card rather than your credit card. Visa often charges the merchant 1% or more of the total. When you pay by debit, YOU get charged for the sale, usually in the form of a Foreign ATM fee.

Verizon Wireless will not ask you to choose to pay via ATM or Credit Card. Instead, the site assumes you want to pay by debit first, forcing you do "Decline" the sale, which then allows you to pay by credit. Since it isn't obvious that you're paying by debit, I wrote this script to inform you of your choice.

This script does NOT make a payment for you. However, instead of "ATM Debit" being obscure, it's made bigger and bolder.

Changelog:

    version 0.1:
    • Initial program.
    0.2:
    • Removed 'Accept' link for the 'ATM Debit' page. The credit card page is uneffected.
