Textarea_drag_resize

Last update on Aug 9, 2006

Gives every textarea an icon that you can drag to resize the textarea

This userscript adds a little icon next to every textarea, like this:

You click and drag that icon around to resize its textarea however you like.

This works great (except not at userscripts for some reason.) I didn't think it would work because I could never get the firefox text-area resize extension enabled. I tested it at Google Docs and it worked perfectly.
I love it. Thanks!

I fixed the problem with this script so it no longer causes empty data to be sent back to the server.
I sent the copy to the author, but in the meantime you can grab the script at:

This can breaks some forms and may cause data lose due to sending empty data back to the server. Otherwise a nice idea.

I've made a little modification to this cool userscript and made it works in Konqueror using my (crappy) PoC of Konqueror Userscript.

new file is here:

the koqueror plugin is here:

This is a great idea, but I had to uninstall and await a future version. I discovered that it was causing my webmail client to send out empty message bodies. I know that I could have blocked my webmail domain, but then that leaves me wondering if I will be submitting an important web form in the future and not know that it's being posted empty, a chance that I can't take.

Why does this make the digg.com comment box smaller, and makes it impossible to make it wider, only taller?
