Script Summary: Removes dirty updates from your facebook homepage (e.g. quizzes, stumbleupon, youtube). Provides user preferences menu to turn/off updates as required.
Version: 0.2 - 24th March 2009
This script cleans your Facebook Homepage by removing (1) any external app updates (inc. quizzes, games, polls etc), (2) youtube video links and (3) Stumble Upon updates.
*NEW in v0.2* The script also provides user preference menus to turn on/off the specific updates
Note: To update from v0.1 to v0.2, first uninstall the script (steps below) and then re-install the script by clicking on "Install" link above

Steps to install this script:
1. This script works only on Firefox (so incase you are on IE, this is another good reason to switch to FF). Start your Firefox browser.
2. Download Greasemonkey [https://addons.mozilla.org/en-US/firefox/addon/748]
This Firefox extension creates the framework for you to take control of what you see in your browser!
You will have to restart your browser to complete the installation of the extension.
3. Click on "Install" link above to install the 'Facebook Homepage Cleaner (FbHC)' script.

4. You will get prompted by the browser for this script, go ahead and click on the 'Install' button.
Thats it, your cleaner has been installed.
5. Refresh your Facebook homepage to see the new 'clean' page with none of those annoying updates!
*NEW in v0.2* User Preferences Menu
Now you can configure the behavior of the script (e.g. turn on/off the updates for each category)
1. Right-click on monkey icon at bottom right corner of browser window. This will show the monkey-menu
2. In the monkey-menu, go to "User-script commands"
3. This will show you the sub-menus to clean or show each of the categories
4. Select any sub-menu option. This will refresh you facebook homepage with the effective changes
Note: The same menu is also accessible from Tools > Greasemonkey > User Script Commannds
Steps to uninstall this script:
1. Right-click on monkey icon at bottom right corner of browser window. This will show the monkey-menu
2. In the monkey-menu, select "Manage User Scripts"
3. Select "FbHC"
4. Click on "Uninstall" button
5. Click on "Close" button
The script is now uninstalled.
