Atlanta-Fulton County Georgia Library System
Is this Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powell's, or Netflix item (book, CD, DVD) available from the Atlanta-Fulton County Georgia Library System?
This greasemonkey user script determines if an Amazon, Barnes and Noble, Powell's, or Netflix item (book, CD, or DVD) is among the holdings of the Atlanta-Fulton County Georgia Library System.
When the user navigates to an item, the user script locates, if present, the ISBN-13, the ISBN-10, the title, the author(s), the actor(s), and the director(s) on the page. It then searches the library by ISBN-13 and ISBN-10, by title and each author, by title and each actor, and by title and each director.
If a search returns at least one result, a "smile" icon appears above the product image. If the user clicks on the "smile" icon, the browser navigates to the library search result(s) for the item.
If no search returns any result, a "frown" icon appears above the product image.

Updated to search by title first; if title search fails, no further searches are performed, but if title search succeeds, searches by title and author proceed. |

Updated to reflect change to Amazon.com site and to work with Netflix. |

Updated to search by ISBN-13, title, author, actor, and director; to search for CDs and DVDs; to work with Barnes and Noble and Powells; and to change the UI. |

Hi Laraby - Amazon.com had changed its site, and I hadn't updated my script to match it. (They used to preface the ISBN with "ISBN"; now it's "ISBN-10" or "ISBN-13".) I've updated the script now, and if you install the new version, it should show you the smiley / frowny face in the lower right corner of the page. Right now, the Atlanta-Fulton Public Library catalog is down, so it will be a frown no matter what, but once it's back up, it should give you one or the other depending on whether the library has a book with that isbn. Thanks! |

Drew, I use firefox and have greasemonkey installed (smiley monkey face). I installed this script, but when I go to a amazon page with ISBN I don't see where it shows if the library has the book or not.

Drew, I just discovered Greasemonkey and love it. I live in Toledo OH. How difficult would it be to adapt this for the Toledo Public Library? Thanks, Mark |

Brilliant. A lengthy load, but quite worth it. An innovative concept – very much unlike all the other scripts in the category. Kudos to you Drew. Thank you for this wonderful script. |
