Script Summary: Convert US measurement units to their metric counterparts
This script converts US measurement units to their metric counterparts.
Usage: Place the mouse cursor over a value expressed in US units (eg. "12 inches"), and you'll get a tooltip that shows the metric equivalent. If you click the value while holding Ctrl, it will be replaced with the metric equivalent. If you click it while holding both Ctrl and Shift, all the US values found on the page will be replaced with their metric counterparts.
The script does the following conversions:
Units of length:
- inches → centimetres
- feet → metres
- yards → metres
- miles → kilometres
Units of mass:
- ounces → grams
- pounds → kilograms
Units of volume:
- fluid ounces → milliliters
- gallons → liters
Units of temperature:
- Fahrenheit degrees → Celsius degrees
Units of velocity:
- miles per hour → kilometres per hour
