Gmail Conversation Preview

Right-click on any conversation to get a preview bubble.

This is an update to the script created by Mihai Parparita. This script addresses the broken Archive and Trash features. Also contains some personalizations that I have made to the script including a Subject bar below the link toolbar.

immediately following the subject line you have a preview snippet of the body of the email. then, under that, you have the entire body of the email. which means the first line or two of the email is on screen twice.

this is annoyingly redundant and the only flaw in this otherwise perfect script. the subject should be in a space by itself. there is no need to have the first line of the email body repeated twice. this only leads to confusion and wasted reading time.

if you fixed this my life would be complete.

Hi,
great script! I think it has some compatibility problem with the Gmail Box for google reader script (http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/8598):
When checking the greader feeds (and then the back to inbox), right-click on a message shows the selected message subject but the body of the next one.

very nice :D

i love the whole gmail conversation preview thingo :D

with your script can it be made so that (for atleast an option) the bubble looks like the bubble in this script http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/8599

that script has a better bubble but has the "appear on the far right" bug and the author doesn't seem to responsive ....

thnx :D

Hey that's actually a nice script. That could come more in handy than most other scripts I've found. However I wouldn't mind a 'Go to message' button next to delete or as Four Walls originally asked April of last year, a "Reply" button which would jump you straight to the reply field in the message. Beyond that, Thank you!

This is a super script. I really like it, but would love to see one more feature. Would it be possible to add "Reply" to your menu. I can imagine a few possible problems, but it may be reasonably doable.

Thanks for a great script!

Could you add "Show img" and "Open Actual Msg" buttons? The first is quite obvious, and the second is due to some HTML email which doesn't render correctly, too wide, for instance.

Thanks a lot. Great script!

Hmmm. I have low-speed connection, so i have to wait loading information from message. In original script bubble appeared immediatelly with "Loading" inscription. So I just wanna this inscription and immediate appiaring of bubble back :)

Thanks for fixing--although pressing "R" still marks read (rather than starting reply), at least it only marks the PREVIEWED message read! :)

However, hitting "Y" or Archive still has unintended side-effect of archiving EVERY CHECKED MESSAGE in the main message list! Hope you can make it act on ONLY the previewed message as the user expects!

Great work...!

Additional note: looking at a single message, a keyboard user will hit "R" intending to reply; however, what that ACTUALLY does is mark the message read (and unfortunately, all other msgs that were "checked" before the preview...)

Great script, but agree with both of the below...AND, please let us use the SPACEBAR to scroll :)

I write to you, as you are the one who has updated this script... The bubble should have a fixed width. Or at least that it can be wider, but not smaller.
Because sometimes people write just "haha" or whatever.... And then you can't see the whole "Close, Archive, Leave Unread, Delete" bar.

And I also don't see any point with having the first row of the message under that blue bar, when the whole message is shown again right under it.

:)

Nice script, but could use a REPLY option in the popup window.

You could comment on this script if you were logged in.
