The new GMail built-in gadget from Google on iGoogle page is different from the earlier simpler version. The earlier version used to show the total count and had links to show preview or hide preview. The newer version does not have the show/hide preview links. The preview of the email functionality in the newer version also does not block images. This user script will render the GMail gadget in the old format and all the links will open GMail just like it used to.
