Layman's Description

This script successfully seeks out the HIGHEST available quality for YouTube, and loads it on the page without refreshing. Read on for the various other features.

Options

This script has three options that aren't hard to configure. First of all, the options are all in the first part of the code, where you see var autoplay=true,c1="000000",c2="FFFFFF"

• autoplay - exactly what you think it is: start the video automatically, or not?
• c1 - the hex forecolor of the YouTube player (script default is black)
• c2 - the hex backcolor of the YouTube player (script default to white)
  • colors in general ==> Having trouble with the colors? This tool is helpful.
• useHD - 720p will only be loaded if it's available, obviously. If you have a slow computer, you should set this to false. Don't believe me? See for yourself.

Updates

• 0.96.x - Video links are found with XPath, which is apparently much faster than looping through all the document's links.
  • 0.96.5 - Fixed a tiny bug where there is some space between the video and it's title.
  • 0.96.6 - Script should be a bit faster, coded more efficiently now.
  • 0.96.7 - If the HQ data is already on the page, the script will take advantage of it. Also added a nice feature where you can choose the two colors of the YouTube player.
  • 0.96.8 - added a more powerful HQ detector, and style recode.
  • 0.96.9 - added autoplay off feature (JoeSimmons request)
• 0.97 - Introduce the new 720p HD feature, with a configurable option to use it if it's available ;). Also, un-jumble code for curious monkeys and remove video re-linking feature.
  • 0.97.1 - minor consistency update: the script runs on ALL youtube video pages, and doesn't exclude fmt=18, since the new format is out.
  • 0.97.2 - nothing noticeable. just style re-code, and new comments
