Evil Google Logo

Shows the Students for a Free Tibet version of Google logo

This user-installed Greasemonkey script will replace the Google logo on a Google site with the one developed by the folks at http://www.studentsforafreetibet.org/

Note: this works when the logo is an image with the alt tag of "Google". It will need adjusting for some countries or co-branded pages like the Firefox start page. You can find the relevant line at the bottom.

Note2: All the gobbledygook is the replacement image.

Note3: You need Greasemonkey installed for this to work. Visit http://greasemonkey.mozdev.org/
and follow instructions there to install Greasemonkey.

Update1: People in China may not be "feeling lucky." Minor change to express that.

Always baffles me why it's those who know nothing about Tibet want to say something about it. There was slavery in Tibet, and Dalai Lama himself owned slaves. They flayed human beings and use their skins to make drums. Maybe this is the "free" Tibet Amos wants to have? Why politicize the greasemonkey?

Brilliant. I've posted a "slightly modified":http://userscripts.org/scripts/show/3063 version that switches out the logo on the search results page as well. I had to crop the photo a bit so it didn't look overly distorted on either page.

Hey Amos,
This is Matt from Students for a Free Tibet aka Philo. Thanks so much for writing this script, it's freaking awesome. Now we have a solution for people who aren't prepared to give up on using Google, but what to express their outrage. Please feel free to shoot me an email: matt AT studentsforafreetibet DOT org. I can't say how much we at SFT appreciate you taking the time to speak out and do some great work!
Cheers,
Matt
