IMDB "My Movies" enhancer
Emphasize the links for movies on your "My Movies" & "Vote History" list
The IMDB "My Movies" enhancer is a simple and small script for the Internet Movie Database site. When installed, it will highlight all links for movies in your "My Movies" and "Vote History" lists.
This is very useful for me: now I can check the Top 250 movies list and see which ones I still didn't watch. It's also works on any director, actor/actress, producer, etc. page, so I can spot their works that I missed.
At the moment, it won't distinguish between categories (it will highlight the categories "Seen", "Must See" or any others in the same way). I might change this in a future release, though...

Update: I finally installed Firefox 3 and noticed that now cookies are not sent with GM_xmlhttpRequest by default. The latest version of this script (2008.08.27) fix this problem. |

Thanks, it works fine. |

firefoxftw, thank you for bringing this to my attention. I finally fixed this problem (I hope), and as a bonus, now on a movie page the title is highlighted if it's on your list. Please reinstall, and enjoy! |

I'm still getting the bug that horizonstar mention (a). If I add a movie to mymovies and then remove the movie, it doesn't remove the green highlight. I hope this bug gets fix because I really like this script. |

Hi horizonstar! Ouch! I didn't see that bug coming... I just fixed this and also added support for the Vote History list, too. Thank you very much for your feedback! |

Hi ric, I've modified your script so that (a) it doesn't keep growing the user's Firefox Config value every time the list is updated because it looks for the presence of a movie in the list before adding it, and (b) it also captures the user's Vote History. Please let me know how I can send my modifications to you so you can include them in your public script. |

"the word "details" will be in green if the movie is in your list." Aha! Thanks, that's clever. Cheers! |

Hi Cantos! Thanks for the feedback. I might implement your idea on the next version... until them, you can look at the "IMDB pro details" link, right below the title - the word "details" will be in green if the movie is in your list. |

Congratulations for this great script! It would be wonderful if you could add one or two code lines for highlighting not only the LINKS in a listing page, but also the TITLE in the main title page. For instance, highlight the word "Nostalghia" on http://www.imdb.com/title/tt0086022/ --- in this way I will know this film is on "My Movies" list when I come to this page. I presume it's pretty simple to modify your code to do that, but I'm not skilled enough to do it myself. Thanks! |
